It would be wonderful if the calendar could be set to remind users about an event just before it happened eg if a student has a tutorial in their calendar, a reminder could appear in a similar way to Outlook.

As a teacher, it would be useful to be able to create events in student's calendars at an individual level, rather than through a course, in order to offer a truly personalised curriculum.  So if a member of staff wished to have a tutorial session with an individual student, that could be placed into their calendar, and the student notified.
