    Administration Trash Can

Posted by Arild Schanke on Oct 11, 2010 04:13 AM PDT | Active

It would be very useful if the trash can for deleted users would be searchable by username (and possibly also synch key).

Additionally it would be helpful to be able to search for and view/restore "hidden" users. Talk to John Terje at integrations for details.

Bug! Test 2.0 - Student View - Grades

Posted by Arild Schanke on Oct 11, 2010 04:26 AM PDT | Active

In Test 2.0. If anything other than 'no assessment' is chosen, the students are prompted 'Grades will be given' before starting the test. This is most often wrong / misleading as we mostly use 'Accepted/Non accepted' as the preferred form of assessment. The students then wrongly expect to be graded, which every semester cause a lot of confusion / misunderstanding.

We know that the different forms of assessment are editable and thus it is difficult to design individual feedback based on the assessment chosen. However, we urge you to replace the current statement with something else. For instance: 'Assessment will be given'

    • Yes, you are right and we will look into this.

    Bug! Progress Report 2.0

Posted by Arild Schanke on Oct 19, 2010 06:02 AM PDT | Active

It IS beta, so I guess bugs are to be expected. However, it's a nice improvement and we'd like to use it now. Here is our scenario:

We're using test 2.0 for a MC-test. 3 attempts. Best one counts (regardless of order). However, the progress report 2.0 reports "not passed" for students that have failed on a second (or third) attempt after passing their first (or second) attempt. Thus, it does not take into account that the "best attempt counts".

Hopefully you can fix this ASAP as we'd like to use the excel export provided with the PR 2.0.

    My dashboard as starting page?

Posted by Arild Schanke on Jan 23, 2011 07:57 AM PST | Active

After login you're taken to the default dashboard which (usually I guess?) is the dashboard of the top hierarchy for your account. Since one size does not fit all, my suggestion is to make the starting page (your preferred dashboard) selectable in the user preferences. That is, if you like to have "My dashboard" (which you can customize) as the first page after login, you can do so. After all, people expect to be able to customize their dashboard, and starting off on the site dashboard does not allow you to. This creates some confusion among our users.

Bottom line - you should be able to select "My dashboard" as your default starting page.
