There is a feature in the simple version of test which is missing from Test 2 and from surveys. This is an option for the creater of a test 2 or a survey to be sent either an email or a SMS text message when someone completes a test or survey. In Test this option is on the advanced tab, this tab is not in Test 2 or in surveys.
You would not want to use this if lots of users were compelting surveys at the same time but when an external anonymous survey may be run over a longer period and there might only be a response every few days it would be useful to get a reminder that there is some new data to look at. This would be particularly useful if a school was using an external survey for parents to complete.
It would also be useful in the survey if there was a question type that allowed the person filling in the survey to choose to add their own email address which then generated a confirmation email thanking them for completing the survey. My own research shows that people completing a survey often have an anxiety about whether they filled it in correctly and has the person who created it received it. A confirmation email would give a reasurance to that person and alert the person who created the survey that somebody has completed the survey. It also captures email addresses.
Whilst on surveys. it would also be useful to have an external survey which is NOT anonymous. When looking through the normal results it is really hard to go back and find the detailed answers for an indvididual as the left hand column always says anonymous and you only have date and time to distinguish one persons answers from another. You could still have an option in the name field to remain anonymous if the user wished but usually the person who created a survey wants to know who filled it in.
