I think that it would be relatively easy for you (just adding a few more functionalities) to improve your software to become a MIS more than just a VLE... maybe just adding things like an admissions module, timetable and creating a reporting system for assessment as well as adding more fields to students/staffs details would let us to get rid of our SIMS and also would remove the lynchpin step when creating users which not always works as well as it should.... With this, we would save money in licenses, and time in management as everything (MIS, VLE and Parent gateway) would be concentrated in just one umbrella...
