    Overview of homework (Klassenboek)

It should be possible for teachers to see how much homework their students have in other courses (even though the teahcer has no access to those courses). The reason for this is that a teacher needs to know how how much work the students have on a certain day or week in order to portion the amount of work he or she gives. Furthermore, the mentor should also have this overview.

For whom do we solve a problem :
This will solve the following problem: Pupils get too much homework because teachers cannot see how much homework they have in other courses. Pupil: Will have a more balanced work-load Teacher: Will not have to face angry pupils who are overloaded with homework. They can also better plan when he or she can give a test to the pupils (for instance in weeks where the pupils don't have other tests) Mentor: Will have an overview of the schedule of his pupils

    Why solve this problem? :
First of all because it will make it's learning educational critical. Homework is something all schools are using, and if we can get them to register homework in it's learning, it's learning will be a much more important part of their education. Many schools will also make it mandatory to use it's learning to register homework Secondly because our competitors have this solution Thirdly: it will increase the percieved value of it's learning

At our school we solved this by creating virtual pupils, e.g. mentor2tc for group 2tc. any teacher creating a course for this group must then add this virtual pupil as a participant to his course. Logging in as "mentor2tc" gives automatic access to the entire range of other courses for this group as well as to the group agenda. vld@reynaert.nl
