    email viewing on the dashboard

Posted by Hector Fuentes on Aug 30, 2010 06:36 AM PDT in Itslearning ideas portal | Active

After the last update on 26 august 2010, the email viewing on the dashboard has been changed.

Many of our employees and teachers think that this is not a good idea, especially when you log on its learning and you need to show something in a presentation in the classroom.

I called support today, but its seem there is not a option to change that.

For whom do we solve a problem :

Workaround: Move (or ask your administrator to move) that content block down so far that it goes outside viewable screen area. Of course other users might disagree and want the content block there ... (side note: I would have liked to customize my own dashboard and set that as my default when I log in. As far as I know it's not possible to add the normal content blocks we're used to into "My dashboard", but I might have missed something)

Hei Thanks for your comment. The workaround is possible and I was thinking about to remove the email content block from the dashboard temporary, but many users want this content block there. It was perfect when just the subject was showed, therefore this new type viewing should be an option we can choose. I really hope a solution that resolves that as soon as possible.

Agree totally! I would have liked the dashboard to be as customizeable as possible, at least for teachers. I can see reasons for making the students dashboard more rigid, but even that should be left to the organisation to decide.

Jo - Most of the content blocks available at the site dashboard can now be added to "My dashboard".

Hei Lars-Jacob The content block it's available to be added to "My dashboard", but the problem here is the how the e-post messages are showed in the content block. All users in my organization dont like that, they want just the subject to be showed, but we dont have any option to do that.
