Drag and drop interface in folders

Moving files in folders in It's learning is a mess. It would be better if the interface tried to mimick the drag and drop features of most modern GUIs. For instance, if I want to move a file to another folder, I want to drag it onto that folder. If I want to move it up one level, there should also be a quick way to do that (e.g. a "." folder).
Today, you have to specify files, then specify folders, then press enter. That takes about five times as much time as I would want to spend on it. This leads to more clutter, because people (teachers) are too lazy to clean them up.
Look to Google Docs for inspiration.

Excellent idea and a great way to gain lots of time while working in It's Learning.
(Like google docs would be great, for my use the ideal solution would be something like www.getdropbox.com, where you move the files around in the operating system's interface and sort how they are organized on the web for the students in this way)

Good idea. As an addition to your proposal, it would be great if it was possible to drag and drop files from the desktop when uploading a file.

I totally agree - this should be the navigation-style in any modern LMS.

I support this one strongly. The current system is out-of-date, and unnecessarily cumbersome to use. E.g. if you want to move an element to a different folder my guess is that you in 99% of the cases want to move it within the same course page. Thus, the destination course should be automatically set to the current one. Now, you have to scroll through N courses. Quite annoying if you're working support on a site with 1000+ courses.
